Dear Valued Patients,
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last couple of months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. We have been granted the ability to resume our regular schedule of patient care.
Hewlett Family Dental has taken great pride in treating our patients compassionately and safely. We have always maintained strict adherence to regulations from the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Contol (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Universal precautions and infection control procedures have been and will remain our top priority. We have and will continue to follow the activities of the ADA, CDC, and OSHA so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We will always continue to do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
So, what is different now?
When you call to schedule your appointment, we will be asking you screening questions to increase safety for all. When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you remain in your car, and phone the office, 502-633-2229. We will update your health history over the phone before you
enter the building. When you do enter our office, please come in alone (children may only be accompanied by ONE adult). You will be met by a staff member who will take your temperature and immediately escort you to your treatment room.
New guidelines require you to wear a mask, and we will have hand sanitizer for you to use before and after your appointment. These steps will continue for the foreseeable future. Commonly touched surfaces such as door handles and counter-tops are disinfected after each patient. We have removed reading materials from our office to further minimize the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. We are allowing greater time between our patients to ensure your safety as well.
As a staff, we are all starting each day by taking our own temperatures, and requiring all staff to report if they are feeling ill, have a fever or cough, and to remain home for the recommended period of time if so. Our level of PPE (personal protective equipment) has been enhanced in accordance with the most recent recommendations. Our patient coordinators will be wearing face masks and practicing social distancing
when they greet you.
Additionally, our clinical staff: assistants, hygienists, and dentists will all be wearing the most effective, CDC approved, PPE available. We are adding face shields and gowns to ensure proper protection or both our patients and staff. Although we may “look a little different”, we are still the same caring, skilled people you have come to know and trust!
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. We have staff available to answer your questions at 502-633-2229 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors, and friends!
